Mecenat

Tip de promovare-eveniment, forma de sustinere logistica si/sau financiara a unei activitati cultural-artistice (mecenat cultural), educative (acordarea unei burse sau premiu), de cercetare, de protectie a mediului, a unor actiuni umanitare, filantropice s.a. (activitati considerate "nobile") de catre o companie sau o persoana fizica, numita mecena, in scopul cresterii notorietatii si imbunatatirii imaginii de marca. Mecenatul are o motivatie sociala, impactul sau pozitiv realizandu-se pe termen mediu si lung, prin asocierea numelui companiei (sau persoanei) cu implicarea in sustinerea activitatii respective (un capital de simpatie dobandit de firma, care va influenta pozitiv clientela).

Potrivit O.G. 36/1998, mecenatul este un act de liberalitate prin care o persoana fizica sau juridica transfera, fara obligatie de contrapartida directa sau indirecta, dreptul sau de proprietate asupra unor bunuri materiale sau mijloace financiare catre o persoana fizica, ca activitate filantropica cu caracter umanitar, pentru desfasurarea unor activitati in domeniile cultural, artistic, medico-sanitar sau stiintific (cercetare fundamentala si aplicata). Spre deosebire de sponsorizare, unde beneficiar al actiunii poate fi atat o persoana fizica, cat si o persoana juridica si unde sfera domeniilor pentru care se acorda asemenea genuri de sprijin este mai larga, in cazul mecenatului beneficiar nu poate fi decat o persoana fizica, iar contractul de mecenat trebuie autentificat.
