Piata de gros pentru produse agroalimentare

Centru comercial agricol unde se realizeaza concentrarea si confruntarea directa si deschisa a cererii cu oferta de produse agricole (angrosisti si detailisti). Este o forma moderna si eficienta de comert agricol, menita sa satisfaca cerintele de desfacere a unei important volum din productia agroalimentara a unei zone.

Exista piete specializate pentru legume, fructe, peste, animale vii s.a. (pentru cereale - bursa agricola). La piata de gros, cumparatorii si vanzatorii negociaza liber – in prezenta marfurilor (bine individualizate si in cantitati mari) - pretul de piata, se realizeaza controlul calitatii produselor, impunerea anumitor standarde de calitate.

Avantajele folosirii acestui sistem:

- este o sursa de informatii privind cererea, oferta de produse (volum, structura, calitate) si preturile practicate;

- permite identificarea si contactul direct intre vanzatori si cumparatori, precum si negocierea pretului de piata;

- pune la dispozitie (prin inchiriere) standuri pentru expunere, spatii de depozitare si pastrare la rece a produselor, celule de coacere a bananelor, servicii (parcare, incarcare-descarcare, transport, consultanta de specialitate, servicii bancare, vamale si postale, servicii ale laboratorului de merceologie s.a.).

Piata este un serviciu public pentru comunitate (nu se implica ea insasi in comertul cu produse agricole nu vinde si nu cumpara produse, ci presteaza servicii in favoarea participantilor la schimburi); se autofinanteaza din vanzarea acestor servicii (in principal, din inchirierea spatiului).

Piata de gros Bucuresti, prima de acest gen din Romania (specializata in distributia de legume, fructe si flori), a fost infiintata (ca societate comerciala pe actiuni) in1993, in cadrul unui proiect finantat de BERD, cu asistenta tehnica din partea Guvernului Germaniei. Prima din cele patru hale comerciale a fost deschisa in decembrie 1997. Proiectul a vizat, de asemenea, infiintarea a sase centre de colectare a legumelor si fructelor in jurul Bucurestiului, constituirea de asociatii de producatori in zonele de colectare, modernizarea a patru piete stradale in Bucuresti.
