Orange Romania to introduce iPhone 3G in August

Orange Romania mobile phone operator will introduce iPhone 3G in August. The phone has GPS incorporated to use mobile location services and the iPhone 2.0 software, which includes access to Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. iPhone also has hundreds of applications from other software developers, available through App Store.

“Due to the extended broadband network, which allows data transfer at 3G/High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), Orange Romania clients will be able to enjoy a complete iPhone 3G experience as of August 22nd,” said Richard Moat, CEO of Orange Romania.

At midnight on August 22nd, Orange will open six stores simultaneously in Romania: An Orange concept store in Bucharest and stores in Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Brasov, Timisoara and Constanta.

Clients will be able to pre-order iPhone 3G as of August 7 at www.orange.ro.
