The National Bank of Romania (BNR) posted a reference rate of RON 3.5420/€1 on Wednesday, which indicates a RON 0.015 appreciation of the national currency compared to Tuesday, although the leu lost ground on the foreign currency market, in keeping with currencies in other emerging countries in the region, according to dealers.

Tuesday’s BNR reference rate was RON 3.5570/€1.

“The leu is depreciating in keeping with the region. Interest rates have dropped on the monetary market, following the intervention of the National Bank of Romania the day before,” according to a statement for NewsIn by Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) dealer, Narcis Noaghea. (NewsIn)
