The leaf from Romania’s tourism logo seems to be copied from a project of international transport

The astonishing similarity between the “Romanian” leaf and the one from the logo of the project Change Transport spread almost instantly in the local on-line field, after it was discovered by Piticu.ro.

Change Transport is an English project for ecologic buses and the leaf from the logo has wheels, suggesting a “green vehicle”.

However, the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism announced the contract of services to make Romania’s tourism brand was won following an international auction by THR-TNS, “one of the most prestigious branding companies worldwide”, and that the brand elements are registered at the state office for inventions and brands (OSIM).

The ministry mentioned it foresaw in the contract inked with THR-TNS that the company executing the project guarantees that the brand elements are original and do not break copy writes or any other  intellectual property rights.

Romania’s new logo, launched Thursday at the Expo 2010 fair in Shanghai, is accompanied by the slogan “Explore the Carpathian garden”.

The new slogan was created and will be promoted with money from European funds. The amount that was alloted by the end of 2013 stands at 75 million euros.
