Recruiting to become a logistics company priority: over 350 people to be hired in 2010

FM Logistic plans to raise its workforce by recruiting up to 250 people, on the back of expanding its activity. “We do not plan to lay off anybody in 2010. For this to happen, we are trying to establish long-term partnerships with our clients. On the recruitment side, it is difficult to estimate a number, but it will be between 100 and 250 people,” said Simina Bleau, Human Resource Manager within the company.

Another company that plans to recruit on the logistics segment is the Dumagas group. “Considering the projects we wish to finalize, we want to double our workforce on this segment. Thus, from nearly 90 people presently working on the logistics segment, we want to amount to almost 180 in 2010,” said Ionel Cipere, Logistics Manager within Dumagas.

Regarding salaries, these will maintain their level or will rise slightly in 2010. “The average salary at FM Romania is of some RON 1,700 [€397], considering all categories and levels of employees in the organizational structure. This salary level is stagnating compared to 2008, because the current economic climate forced us to make the decision to freeze salaries this year. This decision will not be maintained in the future financial year, which, at FM Logistic, begins in April 2010,” Bleau added.

Dumagas is also considering salary increases. “In the worst case, salaries will remain at the same level,” said Cipere. At Dumgas, in the logistics division, the average salary is of RON 800 [€186] plus meal tickets.
