Romtelecom, the largest fixed telephone operator on the market, is targeting young people with packages that include the Nintendo Wii game and braodband internet of up to 20 Mbps, at prices ranging from €9.52 to 46.41. Depending on the contract length and the type of subscription, the game console can even be free.
The top two mobile phone operators in terms of number of users, Orange and Vodafone, are relying more on sales of products only over the internet. As such, six months from the launch of a free card, which can only be ordered online, and which will be delivered to any address chosen by the user, Orange will add an initial communication credit worth €2 and a monthly €2 bonus for one year, in addition to the 10 minutes and 10 written messages.
Vodafone is also promoting an exclusive online e-Complet subscription for a period of 2 years, costing a monthly €7.37. The operator is also adding 50,000 new mobile applications, available for 1,700 phone models, to increase revenues from data traffic. Another new offer is a prepaid package with two SIM cards and two telephone, and including free mobile internet for two months.
Cosmote Romania, the third-largest player, which targets young people, is now interested in football fans, offering a limited edition prepaid package in Cluj County, which gives users in that area 2,000 minutes in the network for calls to the county. Users also receive a mobile phone, which will inform them of the results of domestic championship games involving the CFR 1907 Cluj team.
