Nevertheless, investors are reluctant to buy, given the increasingly lower liquidity on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).
Most analysts are recommending the acquisition of stocks of the largest listed companies, such as lender BRD-Groupe Societe Generale, oil company Petrom, and Erste Bank. Nine companies, including lender Banca Transilvania, gas transportation company Transgaz, and drug maker Antibiotice, have “hold” recommendations. Only two of the 26 surveyed companies had “sell” recommendations.
The five financial investment companies (SIF) listed on the stock market were not included among the 26 companies.
Since the beginning of 2008, listed shares registered a decline of up to 95 percent, while stock market indexes lost more than 30 percent.
