The Commission authorized 28,241 marketing agents recruited by AAV Broker de Pensii Private, part of the Aviva group, leader on the European, Asian, U.S. and Australian insurance market, the company announced yesterday. Another 1,860 marketing agents are waiting to be authorized by the Commission to sell private pensions for Aviva. ING Fond de Pensii filed the documents for the authorization of a further 5,125 marketing agents.
“The Authorization Department within the Commission is working full-time to authorize the sales force. It is an intense work, because we have a large volume of papers which need to be looked into this week,” said ªtefan Prigoreanu, member in the CSSPP Board. According to Prigoreanu, 150,000 agents and 14 fund administrators will be aligned at the start line on September 17, when subscriptions to the mandatory private pension funds are to begin. “I believe other three administrating companies will be authorized after the system is launched,” Prigoreanu added. Aviva announced a €4 million investment in an advertising campaign of the “Pensia Mea” fund which is expected to attract 500,000-1,000,000 subscribers. ING Fond de Pensii targets 30 percent of the mandatory private pension market, meaning one million clients.

The company participated at the pension and health reform in Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia. “At the last reform in Slovakia, BrokerPool brought in 125,000 new clients. We expect to exceed by far 500,000 new clients in Romania,” said company officials.
