The total value of real estate transactions for which VAT has not been paid, and which are in the sights of the National Fiscal Administration Agency (ANAF), is RON 14.8 billion (€3.5 bln). ANAF has issued only five summonses to date, and another 30 are to be sent out next week. Negoita, also a representative of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) in the Chamber of Deputies, indicated that he is being investigated by ANAF and awaits the result. “If the payment decision is a correct one, I will not contest this, but pay the VAT in question,” according to a declaration for Business Standard by Negoita.
The businessman is owner of the Rin Grand Hotel, Aqua Park, and several real estate projects. His wealth statement indicates he has some 1,500 apartments.
