The company’s audited consolidated net sales for H1 2006 amounted to €147.9 million. Significant growth rates were registered by distributor Mediplus and retailer Sensiblu. Mediplus, distribution market leader, registered a 33 percent rise in net sales, to €170.1 million in H1 2007, from €127.6 million in H1 2006. The division strengthened its lead with a 21 market share on the distribution market in the July 2006-June 2007 period, from 19 percent year-on-year. The Sensiblu drugstore chain posted a 35 percent increase, to €56.2 million in 2007, from €41.7 million in 2006. The unconsolidated results also include the sales between the two divisions, worth €27.4 million.

“We are satisfied with the sustained performances registered by Mediplus and Sensiblu in Romania in the first half of 2007, which reflect the competitiveness and value of our offer, and ensures us a good position to continue developing our activities on this attractive market,” said the CEO of A&D Pharma, Dragos Dinu (photo). A&D Pharma launched the Respiro card in August 2007, the first credit card to acquire medications on the Romanian market. According to Dinu, this card will initially be offered only in Sensiblu drugstores.

“We estimate that we will issue 30,000 cards by the end of this year, and approximately one million in the coming five years,” Dinu said, adding that the card will be available in over 2,000 drugstores throughout the country (of the 5,000 drugstores in Romania) by 2012. The initial RON 60 (€18.46) credit limit has been increased to RON 300 (€92.33). A&D Pharma shareholders received dividends worth €3.56 million, according to a decision made in the General Meeting of Shareholders on 21 July 2007. This payment translates to €0.017/share, representing a 20 percent payout ratio on A&D Pharma results.
