"We are negotiating to extend contracts with certain producers with whom we are working in Romania and abroad. Five years, five markets, sounds good, this is what I wish for," said Dragos Dinu, CEO of A&D Pharma, referring to the pace of the company's regional expansion. The company made its first step in Moldova, but due to this market's reduced size, it is considered a pilot project.
Dinu said that listing the company on a second stock exchange, a project A&D Pharma announced this fall, one year after its listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE), now depends on the effect of turmoil observed recently on international financial markets.
Regarding Sensiblu's development strategy, Dinu said there was a relocation process of drugstores reaching maturity this year, and the chain will maintain a 15-20 percent expansion rate in the coming years. Sensiblu owned 213 units at the beginning of 2007.
A&D Pharma's main competitors are the Fildas group, the Relad, Farmexpert, and Farmexim companies, and the Gedeon Richter company, a local subsidiary of the Hungarian producer.
