Four out of five Romanian homes have a mobile or a landline phone connection, while the average in the European Union is 95 percent. Only 32 percent of Romanians use both mobile and landline phone connections, 15 percent use only landline phones, 33 percent use only mobile phones, and 20 percent do not have any kind of phone services.
Germany and Poland are closest to the European average, with 95 percent phone services usage. All homes in Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden and Cyprus have at least one mobile or landline phone connection.
