On international markets, investment fund managers are among the best-paid executives, with incomes reaching billions of dollars. The Romanian mutual fund market is very small, with assets worth €250 million.
In addition to a fixed salary, mutual fund managers also receive a performance bonus, which generally makes up 30-50 percent of the salary, according to market administrators.
“In Romania, a manager of an equity fund, for example, earns more than a manager of a fund investing in fixed income instruments,” said Florin Dolea, Chief Executive Officer of Pioneer Asset Management.
