A three-month deposit pays an annual 8%

The interest is sent to the client's current account at the deposit's maturity. The minimum amount for opening a deposit is RON 500 (some €143) and the maximum is the RON equivalent of €300,000. Bancpost has announced that there is no fee for opening the current account attached to the deposit or creating the time deposit.

Optionally, when setting up the START deposit, the client receives an American Express credit card, if the client meets Bancpost's lending policy, with no card issuing fee and no annual fee for the first six months.

Those choosing this product must pay a RON 3.5 (€1)/month/per account administration fee, an inactive account administration fee of maximum RON 5 (€1.4)/month, and a current account closing fee of RON 5/per account.

According to the National Bank of Romania (BNR), Bucharest inhabitants deposited euro and lei worth RON 29 billion (some €8.29 bln) in the first nine months of 2007, of a total RON 64.7 bln (€19.3 bln) deposited by Romanians in banks.
