AAA Auto: We do not plan to withdraw from Romania

AAA Auto has three branches in Poland and is attempting to reduce costs by optimizing operations and selling land to increase profits in its 47 branches in Eastern Europe.

Rumors regarding the company’s withdrawal from Poland and Romania began appearing at the beginning of this week in the Czech press. In the first quarter of 2008 AAA Auto Group posted a net loss of €5.3 million.

In Q1 2008, Romania posted the weakest contribution to the group’s business of all it Central and Eastern European branches, selling 484 cars, 24.8 percent less than in the same period in 2007.

AAA Auto presently owns two showrooms in Bucharest and Brasov, and a department for acquisitions. Second-hand cars come mainly from French, Dutch, German, and Belgian leasing companies. The company has operations in the Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.
