“Acer market share on the notebook segment was 22.5 percent in the first three months of 2008. We had the highest growth rate in the industry, of 220 percent compared to Q1 2007,” said Sales Manager of Acer Romania, Bogdan Iftemie.
The company also plans to gain a higher market share on the monitor market, where it claimed 7 percent in the first quarter, ranking fifth after Samsung, LG Electronics, BenQ and Philips.
Acer ranked second for projectors, with a 13.7 percent market share.
The company estimates sales of 10,000 notebooks in Q2 and will launch a new laptop model this summer.
