The Czech company won a tender to take over Avioane Craiova in the first half of 2008. The privatization contract is to be signed by September 14, according to State Assets Recovery Agency President (AVAS), Teodor Atanasiu. Aero Vodochody officials say negotiations with AVAS are under way and there were no problems so far.
“We plan to develop Avioane Craiova portfolio. We discovered many similarities between the two companies, both on the military and the civil segments,” said Hulak.
In 2006, before its privatization, Aero Vodochody had losses close to €40 million. For 2008, Aero Vodochody estimates turnover worth €192 million and €10 million worth of profit.
