Aerotravel’s business up 20 percent in the first 8 months

“We obtained €16 million from ticketing and €4 million from tourism,” said Claudia Stan, Marketing Manager of Aerotravel. Some 90 percent of the agency’s activity is based on ticketing and a mere 10 percent on tourism.

In 2007, the agency invested in opening new units, expanding and renovating old ones, and personnel training. “The increase in business is due to the launching of new lines of leisure products, an increase in the client portfolio, both on business and leisure segments, and a rise in personnel efficiency through training,” she added. Furthermore, implementing a new quality management system resulted in an increase in the corporate client portfolio. The result registered in the first eight months of 2007 has led the agency to revise its turnover estimate for 2007. “We had planned a 20 percent annual growth rate for 2007, but have increased this percentage by 5 percent,” explained Claudia Stan.

“The EuroCityBreaks product line, launched at the beginning of 2007, met with great success, so we added other destinations to this line. Another success was the charter chain to Greece,” said the company official. The top selling tourist destinations this summer were Greece, Turkey, and Spain.

For the winter season, the Aerotravel offer includes ski packages to Austria and France, with prices starting at €290/person for seven days, and exotic destinations, such as Cuba or Dubai, starting at €1,495.
