The investigation comes amid unfair competition scrutiny in other industries, such as the pharmaceutical sector.

Agricultural producer and distributor Agricover Buzau and the local subsidiary of edible oil producer Bunge closed a deal regarding conditions for trade of grains, corn and oil seeds. The Competition Council is seeking information from third parties to determine whether their operations are affected by that contract, the release said.

Earlier this week, the Competition Council fined three companies providing dialysis services for a total €1.5 million, for forming a cartel and faking offers for tenders organized by the Health Ministry. On March 6, four pharmaceutical companies were fined €22.4 million for practices against fair competition on the insulin market.
