“We are referring to the salary of an expat who is a top manager and is paid from the company’s payroll in Romania,” Gynella Parfenie, Senior Consultant of AIMS Human Capital Romania, told Business Standard.
The gross monthly salary of a qualified worker in this region amounts to €231, while that of a factory director can reach €4,078. “The salary remained the same for qualified workers, but increased some €300 for factory directors,” said Parfenie.
Salaries are expected to increase by an average 5-6 percent in Romania’s western region in 2009, half the growth rate registered in 2008.
“The difference in salaries persists between Bucharest and the rest of the country. Salaries in Bucharest are 20-25 percent higher than those in the western region,” said Alexandru Talmazan, Managing Partner of Wrightson Romania.
