The company posted turnover worth €16.3 million in the first five months of 2008, some 10 percent higher than in the same period last year, and it plans to reach turnover worth €37.9 mln in 2008.
Alison Hayes invested some €7 mln in the two factories it owns in Romania, and is currently expanding its production capacity. Corina Stoica, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), says that the Romanian work force is more expensive, albeit more qualified. She also indicated that Romania’s textile producers have begun to have a limited production capacity due to work force related problems, and that companies who depended on an inexpensive work force are now looking to other countries for production.
