Calculated in lei, the operating income rose 32 percent compared to 2007.
The advance was supported by an improvement in the damage rate in the company's general insurance portfolio, and by a 14 percent increase in revenues from gross subscribed premiums on the life insurance segment.
By the end of 2008, the insurer had a market share close to 16 percent, with the total volume of subscriptions amounting to €378.5 million. The non-life insurance portfolio made up €347 million, or 91 percent of the company’s business.
No-fault car insurance had the highest ratio in the general insurance portfolio. Last year, subscriptions on this segment exceeded €213 million, according to the company. A significant part of no-fault insurance is made up by contracts with leasing companies.
