American clothing retailer Elie Tahari to break into the Romanian and Turkish markets this year

The first Elie Tahari store is slated to be open in Istanbul this fall, offering women and men wear. This is probably the first of several international partnerships inked by Tahari to distribute products under the Tahari brand.

"With Unitim Group's extensive knowledge of the retail market in Turkey and Romania, we are confident this partnership will allow Elie Tahari Ltd. to continue to strengthen our brand's presence worldwide," said Tahari who serves as chairman and chief executive officer of his company, according to the WWD web page.

The Elie Tahari group operates on five continents and owns more than 600 stores in the U.S.
