...and the successor of Linklaters Romania is: Kinstellar

The name is also an anagram of “Linklaters,” but representatives indicated that this is purely coincidental. The company already has its own site. The new name is to be officially announced and presented to the market this month. The four offices will become one firm with a regional presence, following Linklaters announcement, made public first by Business Standard, of its withdrawal from the region. Company representatives say that Kinstellar with work closely with Linklaters.

A group of lawyers headed by Romanian Marian Dinu, the latter to serve as partner of the new firm, quit the company for the local DLA Piper firm, a move that marks the entry of the American giant onto the local market. Dinu will head DLA Piper Romania.

The most important deals involving Linklaters were major privatizations, for which the firm is considered highly qualified, and include Petrom, Electrica Oltenia, Distrigaz and Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR). Linklaters was subject to the highest number of departures from its team, leading to the establishment of no less than four important local law firms: Badea&Asociatii (later Badea Clifford Chance), RTPR (now in association with Allen&Overy), Bulboaca&Asociatii and White&Case.
