Angela Creţu’s eighth promotion within Avon leads to New York

From her new position, based in New-York, Creţu will be the head of a team made of five specialists whose main mission is to lead the Avon business in a new stage, using new technologies. Romania, where the Avon business is worth some $150 million, will remain a pilot-country for the company’s global business.

According to Creţu, it is one of the most advanced countries, as far as the business system efficiency is concerned. The new head of Avon for Romania and Moldova will be Răzvan Diraţian, the current Business Development Manager. He will handle the two countries as Commercial Manager.

“The fact that another Romanian was appointed to manage the local business after my departure is an exception. Generally, the Avon business strategy includes naming an expat in such a situation, to insure the cross know-how needed for the business development,” Creţu told Business Standard.

More than 20 Romanians are holding middle and top management positions within Avon worldwide.
