The investment, which includes buying the land, the construction of the plant, and the basic equipment for starting production is estimated at €2.5 million. We hope that the production unit will begin to operate by the end of the year," Sorin Minea, President of the Angst group, told Mediafax.
The factory in Cluj will produce a daily 10-15 tons and will be financed entirely by Angst. Minea said that the unit in Cluj will produce new traditional, regional Ardeal products, as well as its hot dogs and sausages.
The company, which owns a factory for boiled and smoked products in Buftea and another for raw-dry products in Sinaia, is building a new plant in Buftea for salads and processed meat products, that is expected to begin production in 2007.
"The idea is to have more specialized medium-sized factories rather than a huge factory with numerous departments. The company also sells fresh products, which are difficult to transport throughout the country, so it is more advantageous to own several production centers to increase supply on the national and local market," said Minea.
