Turnover in the retail segment, excluding sales of cars and motorcycles, increased 19.3 percent in June, sustained by a strong advance of non-foodstuffs, compared to a 7.6 percent advance in May 2008.

The sale of non-foodstuffs rose 27.1 percent in June, while food, beverages and tobacco sales increased 10.9 percent, according to data provided by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
