Antena 1 to broadcast League 1 soccer games for €85 mln

TV station Antena 1 won the tender for the rights to broadcast games of Romania’s major soccer league (Liga 1), after agreeing to pay €85 million, excluding VAT.
Realitatea Media group, through its recently acquired Telesport station, and TV station Kanal D also competed for the broadcast rights.
Antena 1 also holds the rights to broadcast games of Romania’s national soccer team, for which it paid €2.6 million.
