“The labor force restructuring process will continue. Besides those who will be allowed to leave, we are going to employ some 200 people this year, especially engineers and technicians,” he added.
The personnel restructuring is part of the company’s plan to increase production to eight million tones of steel per year. Last year, production amounted to 4.4 million tons of liquid steel.
ArcelorMittal is the market leader in steel production worldwide, with some 330,000 employees in 60 countries. In Romania, the company owns two steel plants, two pipe producers and Romportmet port operator on the Danube.
