ArcelorMittal Galati turnover rose 24% in 2007

In this same period, the plant, controlled by the world’s largest steel producer, ArcelorMittal SA, reported a net profit of some €97.3 million, more than twice as much as profit in 2006, of some €47.4 mln.  Financial results are as yet unaudited, and this process should be finalized by the end of April.  “The investment plan, implemented immediately after the privatization of the company, has begun to impact significantly on financial results.  In the past six year, over $533 million have been invested in technology and environmental projects,” according to a declaration yesterday for Business Standard by ArcelorMittal Galati’s General Manager, Augustine Kochuparampil.  He added that last year alone the investment program exceeded $223 mln, “which is double the profit in 2007.”
