ArcelorMittal, world leader in the steel industry, owns four units in Romania, including the country’s largest steel producer, ArcelorMittal Galati, where the group plans to invest some €1 billion in the coming five years. According to the plant’s General Manager, Augustine Kochuparampil, the investment is aimed at improving product quality and to increase production capacity.
ArcelorMittal is also carrying out a program to recruit engineering school graduates in Romania, to cover the demand for engineers in the group’s units in both developed and emerging markets.
The steel giant currently has some 320,000 employees in more than 60 countries.
