Around 2 million Romanians celebrate their name day on Saint John's Day

As many as 1,477,298 men and 508,689 women in Romania are named John and Johanna.

The number of people who celebrate their name day today increased with 255,340 persons in 2008 against the previous year.

Romania's former president, Ion Iliescu, is also celebrating his name day today, receiving gifts from party colleagues and friends.
