Asesoft Distribution: the LCD market increases by 35%

"The monitor market registered a rapid transformation in terms of purchasing habits in the past two years, and 94 percent of clients are switching to LCD monitors," said Iulian Stanciu, General Manager of Asesoft Distribution.

The company is estimated to have a 20 percent market share of sales of the Horizon, LG, and Samsung brands, according to Stanciu.

Asesoft Distribution targets 10 percent of the LCD monitor market in 2008, through its own Horizon brand, which ranked fourth in terms of preferences among Romanians in this year's third quarter, with a 7.5 percent market share.

The company estimates $110 mln (some €74.16 mln) worth of business in 2007, above initial forecast of €95 mln. Company officials foresee that business will amount to $150 mln (some €101.12 mln) in 2008. The IT distributor has over 1,000 active companies in its client portfolio and is a major provider for the local retail networks.
