Asesoft has $3 mln budgeted for takeovers

“If any opportunities come up, it would be a shame to let them slip by. Investment opportunities means something that would bring value to the business, either a company with high potential which could be bought very inexpensively or areas complementary to our traditional business, such as the case of eMag,” the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Razvan Ziemba, told Business Standard.

Asesoft Distribution registered $52 mln (€36.87 mln) in net sales in the first six months of this year, a level similar to that posted in H1 2008, due to the increase in the number of clients to some 2,000 from 1,500, the company’s new partnerships for stationery products and notebooks, and to Flamingo’s project department, according to company officials.

Nevertheless, the IT&C equipment market posted a decline of over 50 percent in the first half of 2009, according to market research companies and players. The company has a 20 percent share of the IT distribution market, whose value is estimated this year at $700-800 mln (€496-567 mln), according to Asesoft representatives.
