Astra Vagoane Calatori is considering up to 20% drop in profit in 2009

Company officials declined to mention the value of the 2008 profit, although data published by the Ministry of Finance indicates that the company was rather profitable in the past few years.
Astra Vagoane posted a net profit worth RON 69.88 million (€20.9 mln) in 2007, almost double that in 2006, of RON 41.61 mln (€12.9 mln), which in turn was triple that of its 2005 net profit.

The firm budgeted a RON 220 mln (€58.2 mln) turnover for 2009, up 10 percent year-on-year, though it had initially forecast a 25 percent increase. “The crisis will significantly affect some of our business partners, which will likewise negatively impact our company,” Blidar told Business Standard.
