Augsburg expecting net sales to increase 25% to €55 mln
Gina Iordache attributes the development of the business to the large number of cars that have been sold in Romania since 2002, and to the fact that there are still fewer cars in Romania than in other Central and Eastern European countries.

Augsburg’s business increased last year by 24 percent, up to €43.4 million, compared to €35 mln year-on-year.

“The evolution of the business was determined by the development of the zonal warehouse network, the expansion of the portfolio with new reference points, and the resizing of supplies. Investments in personnel training, in improved marketing and promotion activities, and in the expansion of our own distribution fleet have also contributed significantly,” Iordache says.

Augsburg International underwent a restructuring process that will continue this year. According to Gina Iordache, the company already made plans last year to separate the car parts sales department, through Augsburg International, from the service department, through the development of the AT Augsburg concept.

Augsburg finalized investments in regional warehouses in Timisoara and Brasov, as well as a new 6,500 warehouse in the Prologis logistics park along the Bucharest-Pitesti highway. The company is planning to open a new warehouse in Iasi this April.

Augsburg representatives estimate that car parts after-market sales will reach some €1 billion, compared to €800 million last year. This estimate includes after-market parts sold by independent distributors and components sold by cars importers.
