According to Baicusi, consumption on the residential segment was “rather constant” in the first half of 2009, while that for industrial consumers “is a big problem.” Asked about the evolution of the state-owned company in terms of financial indicators registered in the first six months, Transelectrica’s General Manager said that the “company had the same evolution as the market in terms of consumption.”
Baicusi provided no additional details on the subject. Transelectrica will submit its H1 financial results to the Bucharest Stock Exchange on 13 August. The state-owned company posted a 12.3 percent annual drop in net sales in the first quarter of this year, to RON 691.26 million (€162 mln), while its net profit plunged 42.5 percent year-on-year, to RON 47.25 mln (€11.09 mln).
