Banca Carpatica expecting eightfold rise in profit

The lender, which had a 0.73 percent market share in 2008 based on assets, is betting of maintaining its market share close to 0.7 percent, as it expects an advance in loans of 7.6 percent, to RON 1.5 billion. Banca Carpatica is also expecting an increase in assets of 22.2 percent, to RON 2.8 bln. Shareholders are hoping for sufficient earnings from money market operations, diversified banking services, and a cut in costs, for an eightfold year-on-year advance, to some €217,000. “BCC is expecting to post profit at the end of 2009, even if provisions are likely to increase,” said Nicolaie Hoanta, the bank’s President.
