Banca Comercială Carpatica to raise share capital by 10m lei through issuing of shares

About 100 million shares at a face value of 0.10 lei will be issued to carry out the capital increase and shareholders will be allowed to acquire 5.59 new shares at 0.12 lei/per share for each 100 shares owned.

The preference rights will be allowed from June 25 to August 25 and shares that remain unsubscribed will be annulled.

A month ago, the lender raised share capital 9.9 percent to 178.82 million lei. The bank’s capital is of 178.8 million lei, divided into 1.78 billion shares, at a face value of 0.10 lei. The main owner is businessman Ilie Carabulea who controls 35.82 percent.

The bank’s gross profit grew four-fold year-on-year in the first quarter, to 2.6 million lei (709,500 euros), as revenues almost doubled.

Last year the gross profit amounted at 600,030 lei. Revenues totaled 151.3 million lei, up 97.15 percent against the 76.7 million lei against the first three months of 2007.
Its assets reached 2.3 billion lei at the end of March 2008, slightly up against the 2.29 billion lei worth of assets seen in the first quarter of 2007.
