“Bankers’ Restaurant” to become profitable

Heritage’s shareholding structure includes HVB Tiriac’s president, Dan Pascariu, Alpha Bank’s and Romanian Bank Association’s president, Radu Ghetea, ABN Amro Bank vicepresident, Roxana Moldovan, Banca Transilvania’s general manager, Robert Rekkers, and headhunting specialist George Butunoiu. The shareholders’ participation varies from 2 to 9 percent.

“We intend to have the restaurant profitable by the end of the year, and that it becomes self-supporting,” said Datametrics’ Managing Partner Tiberiu Sandu, one of the Heritage shareholders. Investment absorption will be made in about four years, he said. Heritage has 140 seats, 90 of them indoors, in the three saloons, and the remaining 50 on the terrace. Prices start from 40 lei (€12), the most sophisticated dish amounting to 420 lei (€130). An executive chef, a pastry chef from France, a German sub-chef and 15 experienced Romanian cooks prepare the expensive courses.

“The restaurant’s chef, David Constant, did the menu selection, as the restaurant plans to introduce a new cookery concept - haute gastronomie. Romanians still ask for too little,” said the Heritage Managing Board President, Marian Popa. One of the Heritage’s targets, for the four years to come, is to be classified as a one Michelin star restaurant. The Michelin star is a restaurant’s highest distinction. “I believe that Romania provides many possibilities for gastronomy. An European capital needs true gastronomy,” Heritage’s chef, David Contant, said.
