BCR’s Spokesman, Cornel Cojocaru, indicated that the lender posted a slight decline on the consumer loan segment. He added that the bank has restructured 2,500 retail loans to date, but declined to comment on the nonperforming loan packages sold by the bank recently. The lender assigned several nonperforming loan packages in the past few months, mostly to two of the group’s entities, Bucharest Financial Plaza and Suport Colect.

The bank also sold consumer loans to IFN Next Capital, subsidiary of EOS KSI, a major player on the Romanian receivable collection market. Moreover, BCR made similar transactions with two offshore companies, the Swiss-based DDM Europe AG and Secapital in Luxembourg.
