BCR’s largest private banking clients have accounts exceeding €10 mln
Total private banking in Romania is estimated to be worth some €3 billion, with ING Bank, Banca Romana de Dezvoltare - Societe Generale, Unicredit Tiriac Bank, Raiffeisen Bank Romania and BCR as main players.

“The accounts of our largest clients exceed the equivalent of €10 million,” Dumitrescu told Business Standard.

More than 4,000 people use the services of BCR’s 30 private banking managers. The number of clients at Romania’s largest lender, owned by Austrian Erste Bank, increased 50 percent in the past year.

At BCR, the average portfolio per client amounts to €250,000. BRD’s average portfolio reaches some €700,000, according to Dana Bajescu, Manager of Grup BRD Dorobanti office. “BRD does not plan to manage funds of an outstanding number of clients, but rather to have clients with high potential,” she said.

Unicredit Tiriac Bank is managing, through its private banking department, assets in excess of €250 million, according to data available as of June 30. The average portfolio per investor was €200,000.
