Bechtel, which is building the northern Romanian Transilvania Highway, telecom operator RCS&RDS, construction companies Selina and Ico Brasov, and industrial service company Imsat Bucuresti are a few of the firms who offered a total of 3,000 jobs at a fair organized last weekend by the Romanian Labor Ministry in the Spanish town of Castellon de la Plana. The National Employment Agency provided a further 8,000 jobs.

Bechtel officials said that some 1,000 jobs are in the construction sector, and salaries offered are of at least €500. The American company currently employs some 2,800 workers in Romania, of which 2,600 are Romanians.

According to Pacuraru, some 1,500 workers who have submitted CVs have enquired about salaries, health insurance, and other benefits in Romania. Salaries offered at the job fair ranged from €500 to €1,500, added Romania’s Labor Minister.
