“The favorable 2007 evolution is due to maintaining top position in the multimedia projector segment, which increased by 87 percent, and the notebook segment which soared by 131 percent, but also to the constant pace of the LCD monitor segment, with a 26 percent growth rate,” said company officials.
Mike Borze, Managing Director of BenQ for Central and Eastern Europe said the company “targets a 60 percent increase in Romania in 2007, considering the volume we have reached and specific local market conditions.” He added that the company is analyzing the possibility of introducing new product ranges on the market.
“BenQ registered a significant rate of growth in its main business lines on the Romanian market. The company is leader on the projector market, with a 38 percent market share,” said Bobby Durbac, Marketing Manager for BenQ Romania. The digital camera segment has risen by 55 percent.
The company’s net sales reached €16 million in 2006, from €8.2 million in 2005. “We registered a 95 percent annual increase in our business in 2006, which placed us among companies with the highest growth rate on the local IT market,” Borze said.
