Berceanu made a declaration during an inspection of the Craiova train station, which has spent the past three years in rehabilitation and modernization. He added, quoted by Mediafax, that the structures that make up SNCFR, namely CFR Marfa, CFR Calatori, and CFR Infrastructura, will be subjected to analyses as there are many organizational problems.
The President of the Rail Car Traction Alliance, Voicu Sala, declared for Business Standard that he has not yet been informed about the Minister’s intention to reorganize, although he expects to be invited this week for negotiations regarding 2009 budgets and the collective labor contract. Sala added that in the area of rail cars “there is no question of people being laid off.”
Berceanu indicated that the number of SNCFR employees increased by 700-800 in the past year and a half.
