Regarding the expansion of the network countrywide, the company official said that Oradea (northwest) and Sighisoara (center) are two main cities for which the chain is negotiating affiliations. Furthermore, the network targets affiliating some locations on the mountain area of Prahova Valley and plans to manage 20 hotels on the Romanian market by year-end, compared to its current 13 units.
Malineanu recently said that affiliating to a first-rank international chain is a way to ensure survival of a small-sized hotel in time of a financial crisis, when the number of trips declines. Regarding the decline in the number of business trips, the Bucharest hotel market, where the business travel segment makes up 80 percent, will be the most affected.
