BitDefender targeting 5% of the international antivirus market

“Access among the top five global players means a share of at least 5 percent,” according to a statement to Business Standard by the company’s President and owner, Florin Talpes.

The 2006 antivirus market was worth some $5 billion, and is expected to rise to $7.3 bln in 2010, with an average annual increase of 11 percent.

Talpes indicated that the Bucharest and Warsaw Stock Exchanges are presently the most likely for an Initial Public Offer (IPO), rather than the American or British Stock Exchanges.

“If we were to list on the Stock Exchange today, the Nasdaq would not be an option. But this exchange can be seriously considered if we are thinking in terms of two-three years. If we were to make a classification, Bucharest and Warsaw would have the best chances today, while London would come second,” added Talpes.
