Blue Air braces for losses worth €800,000 due to the NATO summit
“We are registering income worth €8 million per month, but this month income will drop 10 percent, meaning €800,000 in losses,” the company’s General Manager, Gheorghe Racaru, told Business Standard. He added that passengers are not affected by the summit, as all flights were rescheduled one month ago.

For this year, Racaru estimates €130 mln in turnover, 35 percent higher year-on-year, due to an increase in the number of passengers. Some 90 percent of the company’s business is made up of flights taking off from or landing in Bucharest, while the remaining 10 percent are flights from other airports, such as Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Arad and Iasi.

Several other low-cost airlines have operations in Romania, such as Wizz Air, Germanwings, easyJet, SkyEurope and Ryanair, all of which have also canceled or rescheduled flights due to the NATO summit.
