“If we take over some 40 percent of MyAir’s market share in Romania, that we can consolidate, I will declare myself satisfied,” Blue Air’s new General Manager, Adrian Ionascu, told Business Standard. This would ensure Blue Air an increase in traffic and revenues, despite an increase in costs. “I want to take the full MyAir share, but must pay attention to the math, in terms of the present capacity and the number of pilots,” Ionascu added.
MyAir carried some 400,000-500,000 passengers in Romania last year, according to estimates by Blue Air officials.
The Blue Air low-cost operator ended the first six months of this year with net sales worth RON 237.76 million (€56.6 mln), up 17.58 percent year-on-year, due to the expansion of the number of destinations and the rise in the number of passengers.
